About

Welcome to Nusa Penida, a place that has remained relatively untouched to the rapid changing mass tourism on Bali mainland. Conserve Nusa Penida provides information for individuals and families planning to visit the island, helping us understand the places we visit. All of the information we provide encourages environmental and cultural understandings, appreciation and conservation developments.

Conserve Nuda Penida was based on the principles of the Klungkung Regency Government’s promotion of Nusa Penida, showcasing the Islands potential.

“We are now working to develop spiritual tourism in Nusa Penida. If all culture potential can be explored, the development of tourism in the island will be better,” Head of Department of Culture and Tourism of Klungkung, Wayan Sujana

A group of environmental science, marine science, education and social science students from Southern Cross University were awarded scholarships to Nusa Pendia through the Australian federal government’s New Colombo Plan.  The students have had the opportunity to travel to the island and experience tourism first hand, participating in a number of community engagement programs and conservation developments in alliance with the NGO Friends of the National Park Foundation (FNPF).
